Southwest Announces New Service To Costa Rica

Starting November 1, 2015, Southwest will start flying to their 97th destination – Liberia, Costa Rica. Southwest has been making recent inroads into the Caribbean so an additional Southwest Costa Rica route is great news. Southwest already has service to San Jose, Costa Rica, but San Jose is a six hour drive from Liberia. Now that there are two airports in Costa Rica, you can tour the country and fly in and out of a different airport!

Starting in November, direct flights will primarily be from Houston Hobby (HOU) airport, and there will also be Saturday-only service out of Baltimore (BWI). If you look at the route map below, the blue lines indicate routes where you can fly to Liberia with a layover in Houston or Baltimore. Southwest recently opened up their reservation schedule for flights through January 4, 2015, so you can already book this new route!
